Updating the IM-3003 is easy since your old speakers will work with the new IM-3303 system. You will need to change out the old rough to the new IR-104. They are the same size so the change out is easy. The new rough-in is needed to hold the two transformers required by the IM-3303. So you will simply disconnect the old transformer, and connect the 2 new transformers. After that it is just a matter of connecting the existing station wire to the new terminal board. If you are looking for a little more power and a CD player, you can upgrade to the DMC3-4. With the DMC3-4, you would be required to upgrade your room speakers.
