The 2055/2056 Nutone radio-intercom is an older unit that is easily replaced by the current IM-3303 system. Both system were a 3 wire system. This means that you will be able to use your existing wiring when installing your new system. Below is a list of the old items and the replacement procedure.

| Both of these systems are a 3-wire system. That means that you will be able to use your existing wiring. The IM-3303 is large enough to cover the old hole, but not large enough to cover the foot print made by the 2055/2056. There is an update frame available(IA-119) that will cover the footprint of the old master. |
2050A Rough-in | IR-104 Rough-in
| The IR-104 rough-in is 1/4" longer and 3/8" narrower than the old rough-in. The little gap on top and bottom of the new rough-in will be covered by the master station. The 2055/2056 has 120 volt AC run to the Rough-in, so wiring power to the IM-3303's 2 transformers is easy. |
N2027 Speaker | IS-338 | The IS-338 is large enough to cover the hole and footprint of the old speakers. |
2025A Rough-in | IR-80 | To install the IR-80, you will have to open up your existing hole by approximately 1" on the sides and 2" top and bottom. |
2021 Inside Speaker | IS-338 with IA-83 Frame | The 2021 is a 12" by 12" speaker. By using the IA-83 adaptor frame with the IS-338, you can cover up your old hole. |
412 Door Speaker | IS-70 with IA-70 Mounting Frame | The 412 was a surface mounted speaker. By using the IA-70 frame, you can surface mount the IS-70 door speaker. Since the IM-3303 is a hands free system, there is no talk/listen switch on the IS-70. When connecting the new system, you would use the silver and center wire and ignore the copper. |
2006 Door Speaker | IS-70 | The IS-70 door speaker will fit right in the existing rough-in. It is a hands free system and only requires that you use 2 of the 3 wires that are running to your front door. You would use the center and silver wire when installing the new door speaker. |
2014 Outside controls | IC-331W | Your controls should be surface mounted, if so they are easily replaceable by the surface mount IC-331W |
2014 Outside Speaker | IS-79 | The 2014 and the IS-79 are similar in appearance. They both have a metal grill. The old 2014 is 1 " larger than the IS-79 but the new IS-79 should mount in the old rough-in. |
